The internal hard drive (or maybe controller) on my Mac mini has failed. Fortunately, Mac can be booted from an external FireWire disk. I ordered a Western Digital Scorpio 320 GB hard drive, and replace the housing of the old internal drive. So far I have had no problems at all, and the performance has improved my old mini measureably.

The housing is easy to install the unit running cool, and seems clean. Highly recommended.

Tango enclosure often just stops during data copy. – cwmorse –
With the tango Acomdata USB SATA enclosure, I met with the same theme, the first by a reviewer, that is to say that the SATA hard drive inside the enclosure seems to work fine for a while ', then without warning or notice, simply not copying files over and stops the process. I have a 320 GB, 1.5 GB WD SATA 2.5-inch hard drive (WD3200BEVS). This unit was known to be good, which means that it worked without problemsanother notebook, Windows 7, until this morning when I pulled out and put it in Tango Acomdata USB SATA enclosure. At first everything seemed fine, if you connect the housing (using the two-headed USB cable) is recognized by Windows. Gets a drive letter. This is a great event, rugged and easy to assemble in case of units. FireWire makes loading the data size. The only drawback is that it comes with the power cord.
